I was born in Salzburg Austria. Mozart’s birthplace and where the hills are still alive with the Sound of Music. From an early age on I had a love of taking care of people and enjoyed travelling.
Clearly the hospitality industry was the perfect fit. As an 8-year-old when my father died of cancer and left my mother with four boys. I quickly learned the value of life insurance. The absence of it created major challenges for my mother. Through hard work, ingenuity, and determination, she was able to persevere.
After working in Europe, on a Cruise Ship, and in Bermuda I decided to get an American college education in my chosen field. I moved to Massachusetts and graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism management. I financed my college degree by working and consulting for a German restaurant in the area.
While still at the University I got married and decided to stay in the United States. My wife and I have one daughter which was born premature with 2lbs. We spent 10 weeks in the hospital being the best parents we could be. Family will always come first in my life.
With 20 years of Hospitality under my belt it was time to learn something new. A client and friend recruited me into Information systems sales and consulting. His favorite line was that business is all about relationships and that I was excellent at creating them and nurturing them. What I kept from my hospitality years was the love for food (eating and creating) wine (drinking and making) and sharing that love with associates, friends, and family. Rumor had it that one of my largest accounts only did business with me because I brought home made bread and Austrian pastries. Clearly it was only a baseless rumor.
During this time, my wife and I put roots down in the Boca Raton Florida area by purchasing a second home. Early in our marriage we committed to our European heritage by purchasing a beautiful apartment overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the picturesque fishing village of Nazare Portugal. A favorite place of mine.
Fast forward 25 years and a successful career supporting businesses with IT solutions it was time to find my next challenge.
Taking care of clients by having their best interest in mind combined with successfully taking care of our own finances it was natural to become a financial advisor.
I started with New York Life Insurance company one of the oldest and prestigious companies in the country known for their outstanding training program and their quality product
Graduating from New York Life I joined Cetera as a financial advisor here in South Florida which allows me to be a fiduciary and be independent to choose the best products and solutions for my clients.
Many of my IT clients were in the Healthcare field as were our circle of friends. I have firsthand knowledge of the challenges in healthcare and what it takes to be successful. Healthcare is a challenging field that can be extremely rewarding. I help MD’s with overcoming the pitfalls of the profession.
